City officials announced the suspect has been indicted in the Brooklyn U-Haul rampage in which nine people were struck in February.
Weng Sor, 62, formerly of Las Vegas, Nevada, was arraigned on an indictment including the following charges: murder, attempted murder and assault. Sor is accused of driving a U-Haul truck into 10 civilians, killing one, and injuring two police officers.
Authorities say Sor drove a U-Haul truck and struck numerous e-bike riders, a bicyclist, pedestrians, motorists and people waiting to cross the street Feb. 13 in Sunset Park. Police say he also struck a police officer.
Sor was being pursued by police and was eventually boxed in by the NYPD.
Authorities identified the victim who was struck and died from their injuries in the incident as YiJie Ye, 44. Ye, a father of three children, was riding an e-bike when he was struck. Other victims who were struck suffered multiple injuries, including rib fractures, a pelvic fracture, broken legs, injuries to the head and more.
Sor was ordered held without bail and is set to return to court on May 31.
