Police are searching for a suspect who attacked a man with a hammer in Crown Heights.
Mitch Pope says he was attacked in the lobby of his apartment building on Washington Avenue. Pope says that as soon as he opened the door at around 11 a.m. Monday, the suspect followed him inside and hit him in the head with a hammer.
The suspect allegedly made anti-gay statements and stole Pope's cellphone. Pope was taken to the hospital with a skull fracture and received five staples in the head.
