Some stories on the minds of viewers included the subway shooting in April and a Notorious B.I.G. statue erected in downtown Brooklyn.

5 - MTA station agents will step away from glass booths (Dec. 8)

In early December a major change was announced for Metropolitan Transportation Authority station agents. Clerks who usually sit behind the glass booths are now required to step away from the booth and step closer to commuters. 

4 - NYPD: Train-surfing 15-year-old boy falls off subway car, dies in Brooklyn (Dec. 2)

A 15-year-old was tragically killed while train surfing on a city subway. The teen fell underneath a moving southbound J train while trying to subway surf on top of one of the cars around. The fall sent him into the third electrified rail on the track.

3 - Runner collapses, dies in Brooklyn half marathon (May 21)

A person running the Brooklyn Half Marathon collapsed and died, the New York City's fire department spokesperson said. Police say the 30-year-old man was found unconscious and unresponsive on Ocean Parkway on Brighton Beach just before 9 a.m.

2 - 9-foot-tall Notorious B.I.G. statue raised in Downtown Brooklyn (Dec. 9)

Late hip-hop legend Biggie Smalls returned to Brooklyn in the form of a 9-foot statue. Christopher Wallace, better known as The Notorious B.I.G, was born in Bed-Stuy, and transformed the world of hip-hop.

1 - NYPD names person of interest in Brooklyn subway shooting (April 12)

A gunman in a gas mask and construction vest set off a smoke grenade and fired a barrage of at least 33 bullets in a rush-hour subway train, shooting 10 people. Authorities identified Frank James as the shooter. He is scheduled to plead guilty to federal terrorism charges.
