A Trumbull firefighter is asking other departments from around the state to help him bring aid to his native country of Ukraine.

Lt. Konstantin Tartakovsky is collecting equipment and gear for firefighters in Ukraine.

He says when he saw the war happening in his native country, he knew he had to do something. When he saw reports of a similar drive happening in New Jersey, he knew that was the way he could help.

“I'm hoping this reaches other fire departments because so far, my efforts have been solely through my Instagram and Facebook. So, I'm hoping the word gets out there, that there are other departments that have expired or surplus gear that reach out to me and I hope I get a second round of deliveries," said Tartakovsky.
