A unique statue may soon be greeting visitors crossing over the Brooklyn Bridge.
The city wants to install a statue of a giant arm with its fist clenched and outstretched index finger. The two-story bronze statue will be placed at the intersection of Tillary and Adams streets. It's all part of the city's effort to make Downtown Brooklyn more artsy.
Artist Hank Willis Thomas says the statue can mean several things. He says it could mean look up at the sky or we are one community or even Brooklyn is No. 1.
Some wonder if the finger could be interpreted as a certain rude gesture.
Love it or hate it, the statue may soon be a permanent site.
