A hit-and-run destroyed two parked cars in Lake Ronkonkoma and stunned neighbors.
Surveillance video from a homeowner shows a white Ram Promaster Cargo van slamming into one car parked in front of a house on Benoni Avenue. The crash was so hard that it caused the parked car to plow into another car in front of it.
The driver took off, leaving the owners of the damaged cars seeking answers.
"It had to have been front-end and passenger damage because he didn't even brake," says Debora Perez. "So, he had to have completely demolished the front of his car."
Perez has gone up and down Portion Road to businesses searching for any additional surveillance video that could lead to an arrest.
News 12 obtained surveillance video from a local shop in close proximity to a sports bar that Perez believes the driver could have come from.
"There's no other place where he was coming from at 2:30 a.m.," Perez says. "Everything here is closed at that time."
Perez and her neighbor are now left cleaning up the mess and footing the bills for the damages to the cars.
She is hoping that the person responsible will come forward.
Suffolk Police 4th Precinct Crime Section officers are investigating the possible hit-and-run.
