The Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation hosted their annual Walk the Windows event to raise awareness of Small Business Saturday.

Many Brooklyn residents came to Atlantic Avenue in Boereum Hill to get their holiday shopping done locally.

Business owners decorated their store windows with holiday lights and showcased their specialty items.

Shop owners say the support is especially needed this year because of the pandemic. They say many small businesses have only been able to open for a couple of months and they want to make up for lost time in sales.

Discounts are being offered at some local shops to encourage customers to shop for gifts at small businesses in their neighborhoods.
