New York state continues to lead the nation in monkeypox cases. The New York City Department of Health says most cases recorded are men.
There is a total of 3,124 confirmed monkeypox cases in New York state, including 493 in the Bronx and about 661 cases in Brooklyn.
Officials have reported a total of 69,216 vaccinations in New York City, with the highest vaccination percentage being reported in Manhattan.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says some ways to prevent infection include avoiding objects and materials that a person with monkeypox has used, washing your hands constantly and avoiding close skin contact with people who may have a rash.
