A row of Williamsburg businesses were left flooded and a dozen apartments were without heat after a water pipe ruptured.
Firefighters pumped gallons of water out of numerous basements early Monday after the night's bitter cold froze up the pipe and led it to burst.
"A lot of water came in to my basement and ? damaged shoes," says Ralph Shalomov, who owns a shoe store on Graham Avenue. Shalomov says he lost $10,000 to $15,000.
Many of the business owners say their insurance doesn't cover flooding and will have to absorb the losses on their own.
