Strong winds uprooted a tree in Bensonhurst, causing it to crash onto a 21st Avenue home Wednesday.
Residents say the tree was dying and they've been asking the Parks Department to remove it for at least four years. About a year ago, branches from the tree fell and crushed cars on the block.
No one was injured by the tree. Residents say it could be about 100 years old.
The heavy winds also knocked out power to several hundred Con Edison customers throughout Brooklyn Wednesday afternoon.
