An author in Park Slope is letting the world know all the reasons Brooklyn is the place to be - 111 reasons to be exact.
John Major compiled all his favorite places and best kept secrets into one book, 111 Places in Brooklyn That You Must Not Miss.
"What I want people to walk away with is that all around you are these interesting stories," says Major.
The book features sites like Newtown Creek Nature Walk in Greenpoint, due to its unique location near a waste treatment facility and scrap metal businesses.
Other places in the book include the Row Houses at the Weeksville Heritages Center, the church where Al Capone was married and the stoop in Bed-Stuy where the character Mookie lived in "Do the Right Thing."
"I am a lover of history," says Major.
Major says he hopes his book will help residents and tourists love and appreciate the history of the borough.
