Holmdel officials are warning the public about a phone scam going around town.
Some residents have reported getting a phone call from someone claiming to be with the Holmdel PBA asking for donations over the phone.
Authorities say this is a fraud.
“The Holmdel Township Police Department/PBA will NEVER solicit donations over the phone or by email. Please do not fall prey to this scam,” officials wrote in a statement.
