Officials are looking out for drivers trying to give New Yorkers illegal rides on New Year's Eve.

They say drivers who are coming up and telling people to get in are hustling and are illegal for-hire rides that aren't affiliated with the Transportation and Limousine Commission.

TLC officials say that officers wrote over 4,100 hustling-related driving summonses this year. The commission is launching a public safety campaign in 2024 to teach people about the risks of using these drivers.

TLC says people who see these drivers should contact 311, as they are expecting an uptick in these scams this weekend.
