Flash flooding along Laconia Avenue on Monday caused some pedestrians to watch out for large puddles during their commute to the 5 train at the Pelham Parkway station.

But the stagnant water didn't stop New Yorkers from getting where they were going.

Some residents told News 12 that when there is a chance of rain in the forecast, they've grown to expect it to flood as well.

"Down the block as well where I live, it always drains really bad. It's always like flooding. I'm kind of used to it actually, " said Addy.

Not only did the flash flooding have an impact on pedestrians, it made some parking spots in the area less desirable, with high water reaching up to the tires of some cars.

With more rain predicted in the coming days, some New Yorkers are bracing for what's to come.

"Now it's another week of us basically dealing with a flood (flooding) and everything," shared Brian.

Tuesday is expected to be a drier day for the city.
