A smoky fire filled a Yonkers high-rise apartment building Tuesday morning.
Fire officials say it started in a kitchen on the sixth floor at the Locust Hill Avenue building.
One tenant was able to get out, but a second resident had to be taken out.
They were both treated for smoke inhalation at a hospital.
Two firefighters were also treated for minor injuries.
Two cats in the apartment did not make it out alive.
