The two Democratic candidates battling for Brooklyn?s 43rd District Assembly seat have different views of what the community needs the most.
Assemblyman Karim Camara took office less than a year ago when former Assemblyman Clarence Norman was convicted on corruption charges. In the short time he?s been in office, Camara has become a familiar face at a Crown Heights senior center. Camara says he is also focused on big issues such as education and economic development.
Meanwhile, Camara?s challenger, Brooklyn attorney Jesse Hamilton, says he knows what the community needs because he is a community activist. Hamilton is focusing his campaign on lowering unemployment, lowering the price of homes and reducing crime.
