Some Brooklyn residents are calling for immediate changes to McGuiness Boulevard after a beloved local teacher was hit and killed.
Matthew Jensen of P.S. 110 was killed in a hit-and-run last week when he was attempting to cross the street.
"Incremental changes have been made over the past decade, like lowering the speed limit and adding countdown clocks. But very obviously, that's not enough to protect the residents and community members in North Brooklyn. And enough is enough," said Bronwyn Brightner, a local resident.
The Department of Transportation says in the last five years, 29 pedestrians and 21 cyclists have been injured along McGuiness Boulevard.
