The owners of the All Seasons Diner in Freehold wanted to give back to the community this Thanksgiving by providing some free meals.
The diner served about 100 meals between 8 am. and 5 p.m. Breakfast was provided earlier in the day. By the afternoon customers had the choice of roast turkey, meatloaf, roast chicken or ham.
The free meals come at a time when many are struggling with unemployment because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Diner owner Manny Vergis says that while his restaurant has also struggled the past eight months, he wasn’t going to be deterred from this act of kindness.
“We decided that it would be a nice thing to give back to the community with as hard as times are right now with COVID and everything,” Vergis says.
All the food was free for the customers. They were only asked to provide a tip to the servers who were inside working on the holiday.
