A Bay Ridge librarian received a special surprise from News 12 in honor of National School Librarian Day.
Nancy Cummings, of I.S. 259, was given a gift on behalf of News 12 to commemorate her hard work as an educator and mentor for the children of her school.
"Sometimes as a classroom teacher, you feel limited and a little holed in, and this way you can collaborate with ELA teachers, social teachers, science teachers," said Cummings. Cummings was formerly a math teacher but graduated from Syracuse University as part of a Teacher to Librarian scholarship program last December.
