A Bay Ridge pharmacist who was allegedly involved in an illegal steroid operation was found dead in an apparent suicide.

Police say a suicide note and a gun were found near the body of John Rossi, 56, in an office above Lowen?s Pharmacy Monday night. Police say Rossi was shot in the head.

According to authorities, drug enforcement agents seized more than $7.5 million worth of human growth hormone in October. A previous raid last May netted over $100,000 worth of steroids. Police say Rossi ran the illegal operation from the Third Avenue store and allegedly sold steroids to athletes and city police officers.The AP contributed reporting to this story
