A beekeeper visited Fort Greene this week to help rescue bees in a hive that broke in half Sunday.
Neighbors say a tree branch fell into the hive and caused the damage.
The beekeeper, who identified himself only as Mickey, tried to put the hive back together again, but has to transport the bees to a new home.
"I carefully cut out the comb, and I put it in a special box to carry the bees," Mickey explained. "I put the comb with the bees in the box right next to where they are. I'm trying to get as many bees as I can, so I can save them and give them a new home."
Mickey says that he'll relocate the bees to his own roof in Bed-Stuy.
