The World-class international sculptors who gathered at Serett Metalworks on the Gowanus Canal are preparing to move their large art pieces to Riverside Park in Manhattan.
Seven artists, handpicked by the Art Students League of New York, will have their work displayed for the Model to Monument public sculpture program. The program is a partnership with New York City Parks and trains artists to create work for public spaces.
Natsuki Takauji, one of the sculptors, says it was hard to watch her 13X20 foot sculpture cut, but it was the only way it could fit out of the Metalworks door. Her work, called "Windows," will be resembled once it reaches Riverside Park.
Artists say their work will head out of Brooklyn on Wednesday. The artists' sculptures will be on display for one year beginning June 12.
