One local artist is taking trees and transforming them into pieces of art.

Paul Kruger, who started his business six years ago, uses either fallen or reclaimed wood to design and build furniture and sculptures.

Kruger says nearly every piece of work comes from its own tree and could take up to a month to build.

Kruger's says his newest series, called "Fallen," is not only about the rebirth of the trees, but also about changing one's life and transforming it into something new.

"It's really about giving people new strength, overcoming hard times in their life. Life comes and hits you with all these different problems and you have to just keep marching on," Kruger says.
