Brooklyn felt the side effects of Hurricane Noel Saturday as winds picked up around the borough.
The National Weather Service issued an advisory with winds reaching up to 45 mph in some areas. Authorities urged property owners and construction sites to tie down all loose objects.
Boaters secured their vessels and say they?ll probably lose a day or two worth of business due to the weather conditions.
A coastal flood warning and high surf advisory were issued as well. The National Weather Services said waves could reach up to 10 feet high.
Residents are urged to call 911 to report emergencies at construction sites or buildings.
