Caribbean businesses spotlighted at expo in City Point

Dozens of vendors from the Caribbean gathered in City Point Saturday to put their businesses and cultures on display.
Momentum, the largest Caribbean business expo event in the borough, was held as part of 17th annual Caribbean American Heritage Month across the country.
The event featured over 50 vendors that included 30 from countries like Jamaica, Haiti and Trinidad.
The Carib Biz NYC network organized the expo.
Guests enjoyed live dance performances, music and live panelist discussions. Attendees could also purchase items like spices, fabrics and jewelry authentic to the Caribbean.
The founder of Carib Biz NYC said the event is important because it shines a light on Caribbean businesses and entrepreneurship.
The expo will continue until through Sunday to close out the last weekend of Caribbean American Heritage Month.
