With Election Day just a few weeks away, several local community leaders are encouraging Latinos to show up at the polls and cast their vote.
Members of the New York Latino Civic Engagement Coalition took to the pavement of Concourse Village to kick off the voter season. The group says that more than 50% of the Bronx identifies as Hispanic, but that the borough ranked last for voter turnout in last year’s primary elections.
Organizers of the kick-off event handed out important election information and helping Bronx residents register to vote.
