In a major victory for Coney Island boardwalk businesses, Lola Star gift shop was granted an eight-year lease.
Many shops along the boardwalk have fought their landlords for years to stay open.
Lola Star had been operating on a year-to-year basis for 11 years, even being kicked out for a year in 2009 by Thor Equities until the city bought the property and allowed Lola Star back in.
Owner Dianna Carlin says that with the security of the long term lease she'll be able to make improvements to her business and possibly expand.
