(AP) - New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo wants to build the world's largest convention center hotel at a New York City racetrack as part of his push to expand gambling in a bid for more state tax revenue and jobs.
During his second State of the State address, the first-term Democrat is proposing a nearly 4 million-square foot convention center with 3,000 hotel rooms located at the Aqueduct Racetrack.
He's also calling for a rebuilding project called "NY Works" to replace 100 bridges, including the Tappan Zee Bridge, and repair 2,000 miles of roads.
Cuomo, who is already mentioned as a potential 2016 presidential candidate, is also seeking voluntary public financing of political campaigns and a cut in the amount of top donations.
