Homeowners in Piscataway say a driver was injured after crashing an SUV into their home.
Two people, both 64 years old, were inside Buckingham Drive home at the time of the crash, which happened around 10 a.m. on Monday. The White Kia SUV broke through the home’s living room and knocked everything down.
The Abraham family has lived in the home for more than 20 years and say that crashes are very common on their street. They say that they and their neighbors have reached out multiple times to Piscataway officials, but nothing gets done.
“We have complained numerous times about this busy street. There are so many cars that have been driving so fast in a residential and quiet area,” says Ana Abraham.
But Piscataway Mayor Brian Walher told the family on Monday that this street is scheduled to be reconstructed this year.
The home is now uninhabitable. Ana Abraham says that she is taking her parents to stay at her home in the meantime.
The couple living inside the house was in a different room at the time and was not hurt.
The condition of the Kia driver was not immediately known.
