Parents from an East New York middle school are rallying behind its principal after she was allegedly escorted out of the building Tuesday.
Parents and students from JHS 292 are collecting signatures in support of Gloria Williams, who they say has been an interim principal for the past three years under a probationary period that was supposed to expire on Sept. 1.
Parents claim that Williams was asked to sign a new probation agreement, but refused to and was then removed from her post. They say she has made a huge impact in the community and should be reinstated.
News 12 reached out to the Department of Education for comment, but has not yet heard back.
