An abandoned Peekskill building is now charred and severely damaged after a fire early on Tuesday.
Fire officials say former White Plains Linen building on Highland Avenue broke out in flames around 1 a.m.
"Damage throughout. You can see behind us the roof did collapse. Collapsed into the first floor. So, we're out here right now, were going to get in touch with the building owner and get an evaluation done,” says Jim Seymour, Peekskill Fire Chief.
About 60 firefighters fought the flames for a few hours until they could get it under control.
No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
