NYPD: Men who climbed into Brooklyn sewer face burglary charges; 2 at large

Witnesses told officers that three people went underground while another stayed above as a lookout.

Three men accused of entering a Bensonhurst sewer are facing multiple charges while two others remain at large, according to police.
The NYPD says it happened around 5:10 p.m. Monday at the corner of 17th Avenue and 82nd Street. Someone called 911 after seeing the group lift a manhole cover and climb down into the sewer system.
Witnesses told officers that three people went underground while another stayed above as a lookout.
Video from the scene shows officers using equipment to check inside the manhole while neighbors looked on.
The suspects have been identified as 25-year-old Zion McKenzie, 26-year-old Shawan Thompson and 39-year-old Willie Green. They face burglary, possession of a burglary tool, criminal mischief and criminal facilitation charges.
