Brooklyn residents are in for a heatwave over the next few days, leaving many vulnerable to serious health risks.
With temperatures expected to soar above 90 degrees, the city's Office of Emergency Management is warning people to stay cool and keep hydrated to avoid heat exhaustion and illness.
Those younger than 5 years of age and older than 64 are more likely to suffer from heat illness during the steamy weather. Those experiencing dizziness, nausea, shortness of breath or confusion are more than likely suffering from heat exhaustion and should immediately seek help.
Meanwhile, the city's OEM is opening up cooling centers throughout the borough to provide relief from the blazing temperatures.
