Certain organizations want expectant Brooklyn mothers to know they have places to turn for help in times of trouble.
The Expectant Mother Care center in downtown Brooklyn offers confidential medical care and counseling to women and girls. AAA Pregnancy Problem Services provides similar services. Director Fred Trabulsi says women need to know they're not alone. "There are other answers besides desperation ... don't act alone. Don't think the situation is unsolvable," Trabulsi urges pregnant women.
AAA Pregnancy Problem Services is just blocks away from the Bay Ridge house where a woman allegedly dumped her newborn girl Saturday. Laura Sergio, 25, faces murder charges in the case. Her sister faces a charge of improper disposal of a body. Obstruction charges were dropped against another one of Sergio's sisters.
