Brooklyn?s smallest celebrants were awash in colorful preparations for Monday?s West Indian American Carnival Day and Parade, when they will be able to march for the first time in the event?s history. On Friday, children came together for the 2006 Kiddie Carnival at the Brooklyn Museum. Tikes of all ages donned gear festooned with feathers, sequins and plenty of panache. One event organizer says the kiddie version of carnival provides a good educational experience. Francois is still a baby but his mother says she brought him to the pint-sized parade because she wants to get him started on carnival tradition early.
