Organizers say the 43rd annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks show will not disappoint.
The theme for this year’s show is the American Silver Screen, honoring classic American cinema.
More than 50 pyrotechnicians are in Staten Island loading the fireworks into the mortars, and then they will be taken to their launch locations on the Fourth.
The fireworks will be choreographed to a musical score that incorporates fan favorites like “Star Wars” and “Superman.”
Oscar and Grammy award-winning artist Jennifer Hudson will perform "Over the Rainbow" to celebrate “The Wizard of Oz” turning 80 this year.
For the first time since 2014, fireworks will once again be launched from the Brooklyn Bridge.
The other four locations will be on the lower East River, along the shores of Pier 17 at the Seaport District.
“Every year we try to find ways to surprise and delight the audience. We really want to make sure that they feel like they are seeing a different show,” said executive producer Susan Tercero.
The show begins on the Fourth at around 9:20 p.m. and will last about 25 minutes.
