Police are searching for the man accused of trying to rape a woman in Williamsburg over the weekend.
The incident happened Saturday around 11:30 p.m. while the 24-year-old woman was walking near Leonard and Baynard streets, officials say. They say the suspect ran up to the victim, grabbed her by the neck and fondled her inappropriately.
Police say the woman pleaded with the suspect and even offered him money so that he wouldn't hurt her. They say the two went to a nearby ATM where the victim withdrew $20, which she gave to the suspect who then fled from the scene.
Surveillance video of the suspect shows him wearing a baseball cap, a T-shirt and jeans.
