At least six people were hurt when a recycling truck smashed into a Bed-Stuy deli overnight.
According to police, a Metropolitan Recycling truck plowed into Gourmet Deli on Dekalb and Bedford avenues.
They say the truck driver lost control trying to avoid another driver who had allegedly run a red light and then fled the scene.
News 12 Brooklyn has learned that those hurt in the crash do not have life threatening injuries.
Residents who live in the surrounding buildings say they were asleep when the crash happened and were terrified when they heard what they thought was an explosion.
The family who owns the deli says that this is very hard for them because they live and work in the building.
No one is being allowed into the building while officials determine its stability.
No charges have been filed in connection with the crash at this time.
