Netball is gaining popularity in Brooklyn.
The sport started in America in the 1890s, and then spread to Europe.
The game is most popular in the Caribbean, where students start playing it in elementary school gym class.
"Most people, I just tell them it's similar to basketball, except you cannot move with the ball and when you catch the ball," says one participant.
"You can only hold the ball for three seconds, and it's almost like hockey where limitations of what part of the court you can go," says another participant.
The game is also played with a 10-foot pole where there is no backboard.
Players hope that one day the game will be played along with other major American sports.
