New Jersey authorities have accused of Brooklyn man of child sex trafficking.
Officials say that in August 2019, Soauib Butcher convinced a minor to run away from a group home and meet him at a train station in Somerville. They say Butcher brought the minor to New York City and he instructed her to perform oral sex for money on a rooftop in Brooklyn.
Officials say that Butcher then brought the victim to Elizabeth. They say Butcher, the victim and another person lived in a series of motels from August 2019 until January 2020.
That other person allegedly posted advertisements on escort websites depicting the victim. Butcher allegedly arranged for customers to come to the motels to have sex with the minor in exchange for money.
Butcher was charged with conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a minor, sex trafficking of a minor and transporting a minor to engage in commercial sexual activity.
