Expressions of thanks are continuing as Nurse Appreciation Week draws to an end.
Dixie-Ann Amoroso-Pugh, of East Flatbush, is a nurse at New York Proton Center, a targeted-based cancer treatment facility.
She tells News 12 that due to the coronavirus pandemic, some patients haven’t been able to bring family in during treatments, so she makes sure to connect with patients.
She says she appreciated all the love she is receiving this week.
"It has really been an experience to see the smiles, to show that you are appreciated even if it was just to have cookies to come together and take pictures, just to acknowledge the moment that we as nurses can be together was spectacular for us,” said Amoroso-Pugh.
