? Gov. David Paterson is expected to make his choice for the next New York State senator by the weekend.
Paterson has many candidates to choose from, and some Brooklyn residents are wondering when Hillary Clinton?s seat will be filled.
?I have heard a lot of names floating around, it seems our governor can?t make up his mind, the inauguration is over,? says Kaseem Edwards.
There is a lot of buzz about New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo being considered, as well as Caroline Kennedy.
Kennedy is in the national spotlight as the daughter of John F. Kennedy. Most recently, Kennedy endorsed President Barack Obama, and some say that her special relationship with him can help New York in the long run.
Even though Cuomo and Caroline Kennedy are on the short list for the Senate seat, local officials say Paterson?s decision could surprise us.
?I think there are nine people on the list, and he could go with any of them,? says Councilman Lou Fidler.
Fidler says New York City lost the most amount of jobs than any other region in the country and the next senator will have to make sure Brooklyn and New York get their fair share of help from the federal government.
