Authorities say a Pine Bush man pleaded guilty to murder for the fatal shooting of a man in January.
The Ulster County District Attorney's Office says 26-year-old Walter Post, Jr. stalked his ex-girlfriend at her home on Jan. 11 when Michael Hankins, an acquaintance, was visiting her.
They say Post believed Hankins was a new man in the woman's life. He shot Hankins several times on Vinegar Hill Road and left him on the street.
Authorities say Post told his ex-girlfriend and his family that he had killed someone.
Post later surrended to New York State Police and was charged with murder in Ulster County Court.
Post is set to be sentenced on Sept. 16.
