Expect heavy traffic on the roads this Memorial Day weekend.

AAA is projecting 39.3 million Americans will travel more than 50 miles this weekend. That's one million more than last year. This marks the third straight year of increases.

The report shows 34.6 million of those travelers are expected to drive, 2.9 million will fly and 1.7 million will use other types of transportation, like cruises, trains and buses. 

AAA says the spike in travel is because of an increased confidence in U.S. economy.
