A badly injured puppy was left tied up outside the Sean Casey Animal Rescue on Wednesday, workers say.
Workers at the shelter say they named the pitbull puppy Scarlet because she was found wearing a red sweater. But when they removed the sweater, they found bad burns on Scarlet?s body. According to workers, the sweater pulled some of her skin off when it was removed.
The animal rescue says the vicious burns were most likely the result of abuse and could have been caused by a chemical or hot grease being spilled on the dog.
Casey is offering $1,000 to anyone who comes forward with information to help Scarlet. To share information, call 718-436-PETS.
