Many Sheepshead Bay residents who say an abandoned lot should be turned into a public park have formed a group to officially begin the process of getting it built.
Members of the Preservation Society of Plumb Beach say they do not want the city to put up condos or a restaurant on the open land. They say a park will not only preserve the land but give children in the area something to do.
Residents say recent talks with city officials never lead to anything. They hope with the newly formed group a park can be developed and built.
