A pedestrian bridge that gave people a quick, scenic route from Brooklyn Heights to Brooklyn Bridge Park is closed with no reopening in sight.
The Squibb Park Bridge is fenced off as the Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation makes repairs. Officials say that while the bridge was built to bounce, its movement became a source of worry.
News 12 reached out to the Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation about the repairs, but has not yet heard back. The company told the New York Times that it expects the bridge to reopen in late spring.
The 450-foot bridge cost nearly $5 million to build.
