A single-vehicle rollover crash on Round Hill Road in Greenwich resulted in non-life-threatening injuries for two people after the driver swerved to avoid a squirrel on July 23.
The incident, which caused a vehicle to flip and destroyed a thousand-pound stone mailbox, has prompted a public safety message.
"Never swerve to avoid a small animal," said Bridgeport Fire Chief Mark Cody.
"If it comes down to your life or the life of a squirrel, pick your life," he said.
