The head of the
Success Village community in Bridgeport is warning people to protect their
vehicles from theft.
Board President Ty
Bird says three vehicles have been stolen and two others were broken into over
the past week.
He says thieves appear to be targeting Hyundais
and Kias because they're easier to break into.
One woman said
thieves tried to steal her car and caused thousands of dollars in damage in the
process.
Success Village
suggests residents go "old-school" by securing cars with a
"club-style" steering-wheel lock.
Officials say the complex will soon be getting
more security cameras and hopefully one day will be gated.
