1 injured in fiery crash along BQE near Union Street and Hamilton Ave.
One person was injured and traffic was backed up for miles Friday after a truck and car collided along the Brooklyn Queens Expressway.
People in the area say the noise from the crash sounded like an explosion and felt like a bomb went off.
The incident happened on the westbound side of the BQE shortly before 1 p.m. near Union Street and Hamilton Ave., according to the Office of Emergency Management. 
The truck involved in the accident exploded and emergency crews had to clean up fuel from the road.
The accident created a nightmare for commuters.
Department of Transportation officials are investigating what happened.
